George, may I ask a personal question? You wouldn't have been a mechanical engineer by any chance in your past life?! I just love all your Meccano fire engine models,,,, thanks mate.

Pav I am indeed a chartered mechanical engineer, but why do you ask? These models have no working parts other than the steering.

I think Pav asked as your models are way beyond the scope of most of us mere mortals !.
I thought normal model making was a bit of a challenge,but this is something else.

George, yes Bristol Bob is right on the money, I have never seen Meccano so finely crafted!

Thank you Pav and Bristol Bob for your kind comments. It is indeed sometimes a bit of a challenge to produce a near-scale model when the holes are at 1/2 in spacing, but I try to capture the main features and character. I feel it is as much art as engineering,
