Hi George, The complete collection is amazing, very well thought out visualising the end result from a pile of utility meccano pieces.I assume you have a modern appliance in Mind. Thanks Ian PS you must have a storage problem.
The Dennis Sabre is the most modern one I have so far uploaded. The thumbnails only gives 10. Have you searched on Manufacturer - Meccano which gives you all 18 currently on show? I think that the older machines have much more character so I prefer to build them.
You are right about storage. I need more bays and have to pack them in.
George, can you tell me whether this model was actually copied from an actual photograph?,and would a copy of that photograph be available to me please so I can produce a model of it in aprox 1.43 scale for my ever growing collection of scratch built fire engines dating back to the Great Fire of London. I've really enjoyed looking at your brilliant collection, and especially the older appliances.Pete.
Hi George, well at last and finally I've now started on this model in 1.43 scale for my collection. Its been a right pain from the start trying to re-produce, but the finished model will be well worth it after all the hours I've spent on it.Thanks very much for your assistence.Pete.
Pete I am delighted that you are now working on this one and look forward to seeing the result. Of course it may show how inadequate my Meccano version is. George
George, don't put yourself down mate, your model like all the others we've seen are just real brilliant.Having actually seen them all together on display at the Odiham Show back in August 2010 was a real treat, not by just myself, but everyone so I hope we'll see you again in 2011 at the Odiham Fire Show.
Pete it is simply that this smaller model (but to the same 1/12 scale as all the others) was more difficult to reproduce accurately within the confines of Meccano. I certainly intend to be back next year at Odiham where the interest was incredible. George
