NFS Fire Station-1941 Part4.

Well, finally looking like at last a WW2 damaged building, here's my typical 1941 period AFS/NFS Fire Station scratch built in 1.76 scale from plasticard.
The walls now joined together and stuck to flooring, furniture inserted into position, barn doors made and set in place-now for the roof.
The roof consists of 2 layers, the first being made of plasticard.Small square holes were made and then from the underside thin strips were cut and stuck across the holes to give the roof a shrapnel damage look, this was then stuck onto building.A thin layer of slate effect roofing made from thin cardboard was then applied making holes in the same positions so you can see interior damage. The upstairs building to the right after being attached was also done in this way.
At this stage,a little bit more touching up was required to the roofs, such as giving it a weathered look, also being a very old barn type building thats seen its better years, the birds have helped with a little respray as well. Finally a little bit of shrubbery gives it that final touch.
Whats next you ask?,well for a start,a nice courtyard and some more shrubs maybe,a few fire engines, and maybe some firemen. All will be revealed in my last picture of my WW2 Period AFS/NFS Fire Station.

Thankyou very much Paul. The latest model(you'll know the one)is now in its final stages, but was to complex to even think about how to descibe how it was made. Its been one of the most difficult that I've attempted to re-produce in some detail, the most time consuming, and most certainly the costliest.I'm sure though it will get a good review when displayed for the first time at the Odiham Fire Show on the 7/8th August,2010.
