French Sapiers Pompiers Saurer Heavy Pump.

In recent pictures of models I've made from Europe I've sent in we've seen a typical scratchbuilt rural German village fire station,then we crossed the border into Luxembourg to the little village of Vianden and its fire station,now we've crossed the border again and were now in France.
This picture shows a Saurer TLF Heavy Pump in 1.87 scale by the German model company Roskopf who were based in Berlin and was one of several produced for the French Market.
This is just one of the fire engines its taken me years to collect for use with the 5 bay French Fire Station I've scratchbuilt in 1.87 scale.

I believe that Saurer is Swiss.

Hi Bob, yes Saurer was a Swiss manufacturer who produced the chassis for use in a number of firefighting appliances including water tenders, many having the Rosenbauer bodywork and 2, 000 litre water tank, and these being used by many brigades.Also, air-crash tenders with the 6GAF-LL chassis, and the chassis for turntable ladders using the Magirus ladder were also produced.
I liked this model because it looks very French like and was produced at the same time by Roskopf when they did their French models.
