Three Wyvern FB Bedford TKs

Three Bedford TK special appliances run by my model Wyvern Fire Brigade. The tanker as many will work out is a Water Carrier bodied by Wincanton and based at Foxwood, its registration is NYC376E. The vehicle in the middle is AYD188C a Breathing Apparatus Support Unit based at Houndstone and is also bodied by Wincanton. Finally the right hand Bedford is 893SYD which is the Brigade canteen vehicle, this is bodied by Wadham Stringer and kept at Brigade HQ.

These are all Oxford Diecast models repainted and fiited with a blue light each. The canteen has also had its windows in the back body plated over to represent the hinged canopies in the closed position.

Very good but have you seen the Bridging unit from what I see you could convert one to a emergency tender there are two models one with lockers closed one with lockers open see what you think

I will check out the bridging units when I next go "Fire Engine Shopping" so thank you for telling me about them Skippy. Oxford also do a Mobile Workshop and a Personnel Carrier but they look a bit difficult to make into something else. Funnily enough the BA Tender (the one in the middle of the picture) was going to be a Rescue Tender when I started converting it but I decided it would make a better BA Tender.

The Water Carrier has now been replaced with a Leyland Mastiff. The Bedford had a problem with a front wheel always working loose also the chassis was slightly twisted so the Leyland was bought to replace it.

Its time to get the'super glue'out I think George.

Added by Pete Matten on 28 January 2012.
I tried that Pete, the wheel still kept falling off and there wasn't anything I could do with the twisted chassis. The Leyland looks a better model so all is not lost.
