1960's fire station 1

Sorry for the over-kill, but I've been trying out some photos of my fire stations and appliances in more realistic settings and with a 1960's feel to them. Here we see station 1 with the classic city station line-up of pump, pump escape, TL and ET together with salvage tender and various ancillary vehicles.

Good on ya Mel, this 1/76 scale diarama showing the Oxford Diecast vehicles looks good and very realistic in black & white.

Many thanks Pete. I need to ask you guys some advice for a future project. I need a set of wheels/tyres (single front, double rear, 11mm dia.), a wooden 35' ladder, a hosereel and a searchlight. Who's accessories are the best quality in your opinions?

Mel, BW models do a range of useful parts, the 35'ladder may be a problem though, although they do several ladders that could be painted to look like wooden ones.

Yes Mel, I'm in agreement with our friend Bristol Bob, BW Models do a good range of accessaries including searchlights, hosereels, wheels, etc.
The ladders come in various types and sizes, but why BW Models haven't done a standard Ajax/Bayleys 35' ladder I don't know. This was the standard type ladder used by most brigades(except London)on pumps(WrT), and most of the pump escapes would also carry this standard type 35'ladder as well as the wheeled escape.

also try Langley models who have a couple of models of old time appliances. BW models may well supply you with the ladder from their Austin HRT kit.

Many thanks for all the helpful info guys.

Langleys Hosereel as on the Ford D/HCB Angus is a great casting, also the 35 ft ladder looks good painted and filed to an Ajax lookalike. BW do some useful parts too.
