Schucho BMW 520 Notatztwagen

Schucho model number 26-2637. Made in Germany. Die cast metal. Notarzt (German emergency) livery. 1:43 scale. Opening doors, bonnet and boot. One beacon missing from roof of model. Model dates from circa 1978. Photographed April 2013.

Notarzt is actually the German for 'Emergency Doctor.' This model seems rather basic these days but back in its day it was quite cutting edge. Nice to see.

Thanks for the information. Yes, it was a nicely detailed, if a little delicate, model for its day. There is a diagram on the display box illustrating the various parts and components and how the model has been assembled - most unusual.

The uniquely "Schuco" thing about this series is that they can be completely disassembled and rebuilt. Nobody seems to mention that nowadays, but that one one of their main selling points at the time. Hence the diagram on the bottom of the box.
