Leyland Titan T1 at Romford bus garage
The Leyland Titan was designed to be a bus that would meet London's requirements in the 1980s and beyond. It was envisaged as being the vehicle that would finally oust the Routemaster. In the event less than 1200 came to London, and the Routemaster outlived it.
The 1/76 scale EFE model shows T1, the first of the fleet.Like many of the early vehicles, it spent it's service life in Romford and Hornchurch latterly being maintained as a 'showbus' wearing advertising proclaiming the model name.
Shown outside the Kingsway Models North Street bus garage.
