1937 Leyland/Metz Turntable Ladder.

This picture shows the off-side of the Oxford Diecast Leyland/Metz Turntable Ladder in the scale 1/76 now finished in the livery of the London Fire Brigade.
The head of the ladder has been extended and hook ladders attached, searchlight to near side added with also twin orange lights and the cab now as handrails. The model is to be used as a static display,so the ladder does not extend.

Peter how did you extend the ladder please.

Dave, I extended the ladder first to make the length required, then having striped an old Metz ladder from a damaged German model I added abit from the head of that ladder to the top outside and the remainder of the ladder I laid on the inside to give the model a 4 section ladder appearance.Where I'd extended the ladder before work could be done, the bottom of the ladder interior had also to be filled in and another part of the old german ladder was used for this purpose.
The ladder can still rise to an up-right position and turn, but it does not now extend having carried out the conversion.
