1920's Village Fire Brigade.

This picture shows the village fire brigade with their typical 1920's period hosecart and wheeled escape ladder proudly on display in front of the village fire station.
To the left of the fire station we see the small stables for the horses that pull the brigades Shand Mason steamer, today though, the horses are resting and the steamer is in the station.
This model is based on my original village station and what you see hear is what the station actually had until the 1930's when they got their first motorized vehicle.
This model is scratch built to 1/76th scale, the hosecart was made using the carriage and wheels from a Lledo Dennis Pump Escape which I recently converted to a Pump, the wheeled escape ladder comes from that Corgi Trackside Dennis F12 Pump Escape which I recently converted to a pump.
The model when on display will show all the appliances including the steamer, but for this picture I thought it should be shown the way it was back way back in 1920. Still the age of steam.
