1900 Circa City Fire Station Construction.Part 2.The construction of my 1/76 scale circa 1900 fire station has been continuing with the sash type windows having now been inserted and finished so the 4 main walls have now been joined together. At this point,I've added an upper floor to the 1st level above appliance room so the interior will not be visible through the upper windows when finally displayed.
Getting back to the windows, before any thought be given to making and adding the roof, curtains can be added to the windows, this can be created by just painting a colour on the interior window pane.
Appliance room:Before a base can be added I decided to make the inside of the appliance room look a little realistic by adding an interior wall and doors to the right of the 2 bays for an entrance to the watchroom and stairs to the 1st floor. Then instead of just painting interior of appliance room I used to cover the walls a very thin building brick modelling paper. This was applied by just using household PVC glue.Once this work was completed, window sills were added on the exterior now making it more or less ready for painting and this is the next job.
The next process will be to make the appliance room doors and attach, then, after applying a floor for the interior, the model can then be fixed to its base and finished. This now just leaves the roof and another building which will be added on to the rear(still to be made)to be done.
The work continues so if your interested then keep watching this site for the next stage of the making of this circa 1900 period fire station.
