No: 895 Contributor: Pete Matten Scale: 1/76 Year: 2010 Manufacturer: Scratch built Country: United Kingdom
In this current picture of my circa 1900 1/76th scale model under construction it now shows the interior walls, etc now finished, appliance bay doors now fitted and also emitation tiled flooring to the bays now fixed which now actually completes this part of the model.
At the back of the original building I've made a start and added the old stable building, although the station will depict a 1930's period scene with motorized vehicles,I thought being a circa 1900 period station, this feature would and should be included even though not be readily noticed being at the rear of building when on display, but I often feel as a modeler the back of a model can be sometimes as important as the front, especially when being viewed by other modelers. I have also at this time painted the exterior walls, but they are not yet finished.
The next stage is to work on the roof which I've now started, then I've also to finish the back of the model. There's still along way to go though on this model but its now at last starting to take shape.
The next picture I'll send in will show the finished model with the 1930's fire appliances (Lledo Dennis conversions) that I will be displaying with this fire station on completion.
