Base Toys Tanker Conversion.

This picture shows on the left a model by Base Toys Ltd in 1/76th scale what I think is a Leyland tanker?.Due to its likeness to a 1950's Dennis F23 used by the London Fire Brigade as a Breakdown Lorry, this was the vehicle I decided to use for the conversion I wanted to model.
I used the original cab/chassis,and scratch-built the back end using plasti-card.The crane at the moment is the only one I have and is not fixed to the model, the real one was totally different and dated from a breakdown lorry from the 1930's but it looks OK.I hope one day though to find the correct crane from something so I can complete the model as best I can to look like the original 1956 breakdown lorry.

The tanker is an Albion not a Leyland, although in later years Albion was bought out by Leyland :)
